About the Opportunities

DeLaval has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, high-energy and high-performing customer focused go-getter to join their team. Based in Hamilton, New Zealand, you will have the motivation to learn whilst being mentored into the role, of Graduate District Sales Manager. DeLaval will provide full training to develop your skills to enable you to manage DeLaval's commercial interests by building and maintaining effective relationships with Dealers as well as prospective and existing clients and partners.

Reporting to the New Zealand Sales Manager, you'll ensure the continued growth and success of this market leader, with a focus on exceeding sales objectives. You will be assigned to a Dealer network and you will focus on the Aftermarket Product portfolio that is consumable products, such as chemicals, detergents and rubber ware.  

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Developing strong and revenue-generating commercial relationships across your district;
  • Developing, communicating and executing the annual district plan;
  • Agree and implement a strategic development plan with each Dealer to grow and develop the portfolio, whilst monitoring on a regular basis to ensure achievement of agreed growth targets.
  • Contributing to and ensuring implementation of successful marketing and promotional activities;
  • Developing and managing a sales strategy for your district; and
  • Creating an engaging and productive working environment.

You will be a sales and service-focused team player with a demonstrated ability to build, motivate and lead a cohesive team. Relationship management is an integral part of this role, as is a deep understanding of indirect selling methods. You will be resilient and have the ability to stand up for your product and tactfully overcome objections to close the sale. You'll use your marketing and sales management skills to build successful client relationships, and recognise new business opportunities.

Experience within the dairy industry or an Agri-business will be looked upon extremely favourably. A tertiary qualification in a relevant area would be advantageous but is not essential. 

DeLaval will support you in your success as you'll use your sound negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all internal and external stakeholders. These skills will aid you in liaising with and motivating DeLaval's administration and sales staff to resolve issues and keep tasks on track. 

Intermediate computer literacy along with a solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products is essential to your success. All applicants must be have a valid current New Zealand driver's license and New Zealand work rights.
